Tips for First-Time Attendees

Dress

Attire is business casual.
Bring a sweater or jacket–the meeting rooms can vary in temperature.
Wear shoes suitable for walking.

Hotel

Use a credit card to check into your hotel instead of a debit card. Hotels will hold available credit for incidentals. If a debit card is used and if there is a limited amount of funds in the account, debit card transactions including ATM withdrawals may not be accessible.

Registration

Your registration badge packet may not have arrived in the mail, but don’t worry! Bring a copy of your registration confirmation on-site to any of the registration counters to receive your badge.

Lines can be long at the registration counter on Wednesday morning. If you don’t need your badge first thing, come in the early afternoon to pick up your materials.

Making the Most of Your Conference Experience

Is this your first time at AudiologyNOW!? Have you been to AudiologyNOW! in years past and want to see what tips we would like to share so you can make the most of your 2014 experience? This is a great opportunity to hear an overview that will help you make the most of this incredible experience. Students: Plan to attend the Making the Most of Your Conference Experience–Student Edition.

Sessions

Plan to be at sessions at least 10 minutes early to get a seat! Popular sessions fill up fast.

Use the online session planner to get an idea of what sessions you want to attend. Make sure to print it out with the room numbers so you’ll know where you’re going. Note: the online session planner does not register you for any sessions including the paid Learning Labs.

Take time to read ProgramNOW. An electronic copy will be placed on our website for download a month prior to the conference. Hardcopies will be available onsite as well as portable copies for your electronic devices. ProgramNOW has all the details on what is happening, when and where.

General Suggestions

Bring a water bottle. You can fill it up at water coolers located in the hall or the session rooms. It’s cheaper than buying bottled water and more eco-friendly!

Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the Orange County Convention Center.

Celebrate Audiology is the opening party for the convention and IT’S FREE! When you register, indicate if you will be attending as you will need a ticket for admission.

Lunch is available at concession stands located in the exhibit hall. Full convention attendees will receive lunch coupons valued at $10 per day in your registration packet. Hold onto your lunch coupons; they are like cash! Lost or stolen coupons cannot be replaced.

Trivia Bowl is lots of fun to attend! Sign up early so you can sit with friends or make some new friends. The sign up board will be in the Academy Central area.
