Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) Global Conference
Orange County Convention Center, West Building | Orlando, Florida Friday March 28 (evening) – Saturday, March 29 (full-day)
As the conference co-chairs, we are thrilled with our upcoming program that Program Chair Dr. Gail Chermak has assembled. The focus on clinical populations with CAPD at this 2nd CAPD global conference held in conjunction with AudiologyNOW provides a unique opportunity to learn about a number of etiologies involving neuroanatomical abnormalities, neurological compromise of the central auditory nervous system, neuromaturational lag, and learning-related auditory processing problems in children and adults. This special conference brings together leading international scientists and clinicians to discuss what we know and future directions in research and clinical practice. The impressive lineup of presenters includes: Kenneth Hugdahl, PhD; Paula Tallal, PhD; George Gates, MD; N. Shivashankar, MD; Vivian Iliadou, MD, PhD; Mridula Sharma, PhD; Harvey Dillon, PhD; Eliane Schochat, PhD; Frederick Gallun, PhD; Gail Chermak, PhD; and Suzanne Purdy, PhD.
Like the first global CAPD conference held in 2012, this will be a wonderful educational and networking opportunity. Participants will gain a better understanding of the science and clinical practices that can advance research and positively impact patient care. We encourage clinicians, researchers, and students to attend this outstanding global conference to learn from a world renowned group of scientists and clinicians. Topics include dichotic listening; CAPD in those with neurodegenerative disorders, central nervous system disorders, and developmental disorders; interactions between cognition and central auditory processing in the elderly; intervention approaches and evidence; and training the brain. The conference concludes with poster presentations and a reception.
We look forward to seeing you in Orlando!
