What is a Student Volunteer?Student volunteers help with Academy booths, educational sessions and special events. In exchange for their time, volunteers receive complementary registration. What are the requirements of becoming a student volunteer?You must be a current member of the National Student Academy of Audiology (SAA). Not a member? Join now! Please note: it may take up to 72 hours to process your membership request.
How do I apply?Members of the National Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) will be able to apply online to become a student volunteer when AudiologyNOW! registration opens on November 1, 2012. Online registration is only available to students with a current National SAA membership. Don’t miss out on selecting the prime time slots as they are usually gone within 48 hours – renew or join today! All student volunteer registrations must be completed online. Registration will not be accepted over the phone, by mail or by fax.
How do I know if I am accepted as a volunteer?After your online student volunteer registration is processed, you will automatically be emailed a registration confirmation with your selected time slot. If you have not received a registration confirmation within 24 hours of registering, it is your responsibility to contact Customer Service at 866-229-2386.
How do I cancel my Student Volunteer registration?Email your cancellation request to Student Volunteers. Cancellations made after March 8 will be charged the onsite registration fee. Make sure you cancel as soon as you know your plans have changed so that students on the waitlist can be offered a chance to volunteer.
How do I know what time I will be volunteering?You will select your volunteer assignment time when you register. This is based on a first-come, first-served basis of available slots. Please keep in mind that Monday time slots are recommended for local students and students that know they will be available to volunteer prior to the start of the conference.
How do I make hotel reservations?Hotel reservations are included in the online registration process. Once you register for AudiologyNOW! 2013 online, you will automatically be stepped to the hotel reservation section. How can I find a roommate for the convention to cut down on costs?We have created an online forum for attendees to arrange to share a hotel room.
How do I reserve tickets for events with admission fees?Options for paid events are available during online registration. If you would like to add a ticketed event after you have registered please call customer service (866)229-2386.
If I’m attending convention as a paid Student Member or Student Nonmember, what is the deadline to register and receive the discounted rate?To receive the Early registration rate you must register on or before February 7, 2013. Advanced rate ends on March 29, 2013 and the onsite rate begins on March 30, 2013.
What is included with the registration fee?The full convention fee includes: conference materials, free educational sessions (with the exception of Learning Labs and any specialty paid conferences), Audiology Solutions (show floor), lunch coupons (for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday), and all free special events.
What is "preferred student housing” and if I’m a student do I have to stay there?Preferred student housing indicates hotels that best fit within the student budget price point and offers amenities often requested by students. This also may help students stay at the same location and further their networking potential. You are not required to stay at the student hotel if you are a student.
I would like to volunteer to be on the 2013 Program Committee, whom should I contact?The committee assignments have already been set for 2013 but if you are interested in volunteering on the 2014 Program Committee please contact us so we may forward your name to the 2014 Program Chair.
