Join the Academy’s Political Action Committee (PAC) Advisory Board on Thursday, April 6 and Friday, April 7 from 2:00-3:00 pm for the 3rd annual “Perk the PAC” fundraiser! Make your annual PAC contribution, enjoy specialty coffees and learn more about what the Academy’s PAC is doing for you! Members of the PAC Advisory Board and Government Relations Committee (GRC) will be on hand to answer questions and chat about current advocacy issues. They will also be holding “office hours” in Academy Central from 4:00-5:00 PM on Thursday, April 6. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the Academy’s legislative agenda directly from the experts!
This year, we have another exciting opportunity to raise funds for the PAC. A 5k run will be held on Thursday, April 6, and participants have the option to donate their entry fee to the PAC! Funds raised during these PAC events go directly to increasing the presence of audiology on Capitol Hill and supporting our friends and allies in Congress. Our country’s government has experienced many changes recently, and your PAC Advisory Board is committed to making sure the issues that affect your profession and your patients stay in the forefront of your elected officials’ minds.
Last year, we offered members the opportunity to sign-up for our grassroots advocacy network and get involved in advocating for your profession. Over the past year, members just like you were contacted to “go to bat” for audiology, and attended events across the country. PAC-related activities, like attending key events, help give the Academy the opportunity to speak directly with their representatives about the issues that affect audiology. Your contributions are also vital in ensuring legislative success for the Academy. This year, we hope to expand our grassroots network and will be offering online sign-up options both at Academy Central and at the Perk the PAC event.
We hope you will consider supporting the efforts of PAC Advisory Board at AudiologyNOW! by participating in the many opportunities to contribute to the PAC and become more involved in advocacy!
