The American Academy of Audiology PAC supported Congressman David McKinley of West Virginia at a fundraising dinner on December 1. The Congressman is the chair of the Congressional Hearing Health Caucus and a strong supporter of the Academy’s legislative agenda, including the Hearing Aid Assistance Tax Credit Act (HR 1882) and the Early Detection & Intervention Act (HR 1344). Marilyn Richmond, senior director for advocacy and government Affairs, attended the event on behalf of the PAC. She was able to thank the Congressman for his strong support of issues related to hearing health care and to talk about strategies for advancing our priority legislation in Congress. Marilyn was joined at the dinner by a colleague with the Hearing Industries Association, and representatives from Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Long Term Care Association of WV, Chevron, and the Explosives Association. It was a lively discussion.
