Last Minute FAQs
Housing/hotels:
The Hotel Registration system is closed and has been transferred directly to the hotels. If you need to make any changes to your reservation please contact your hotel directly. There will be a housing counter in the registration area onsite that will be able to assist you with any hotel issues or changes that may arise. If you need to make new reservations please contact the hotels directly.
Registration:
The online system is now closed. Any new registrations will have happen onsite at the Registration Booth in the Charlotte Convention Center.
Badge Packets:
The Badge Packets were mailed beginning March 20th. If you do not receive your packet in the mail prior to departure, you can go to any registration counter onsite and they will be able to reprint the items very quickly. The badge packet contains badge with lunch tickets, additional tickets for events you may have registered for and finally the "Expo Card" that is used to access the internet in the cybercafé areas or share information with exhibitors.
Changes to badges:
If you need to make a change to your badge you can go to the badge correction counter onsite and they will assist you. Also, the online registration system is closed as the data is being transferred to the onsite computers. If you would still like to register please do so onsite in Charlotte.
Registrant Cancellations:
If you have an emergency issue arise and need to cancel your registration – please email Shannon Kelley at skelley@audiology.org. Reason for cancellation will determine if a refund is valid and/or if there will be a fee charged for cancellation.
Changes:
Unfortunately, no changes can be made to anything at this point. The Program Book and Addendum are printed.
PAC Luncheon and Learning Labs:
These events are still open and tickets can be purchased onsite at the registration counters.
Happenings for 2008:
The
2008 SuperTracks are: Implantables, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Practice Management, Vestibular. SuperTracks are dedicated tracks that will provide a comprehensive learning opportunity to attendees within a specific topic area.
The
Honors Awards will take place on Wednesday evening (usually on Thursday evening) following the AAAF Happy Hour and a Half and will include the AAAF Research Awards.
Research Friday! This year at AudiologyNOW! in Charlotte the research pods and posters will follow a new, and we hope more efficient schedule. Research Friday starts with the Student Research Forum from noon until 1:30, followed by the Research Pods from 2 until 5, culminating with Research Posters from 5:30 until 7:30. The Research Pods will be concurrent in four adjacent rooms, which will enable quick and easy movement among the rooms. The Research Posters will be accompanied by a cash bar and snacks. So, plan to spend the afternoon and evening on Friday learning about the latest research being conducted by your fellow AAA members!
20th Anniversary Events

The Academy's 20th Anniversary (PDF)
Twenty years ago a group of audiologists decided to meet to begin a professional society that would be “of, by, and for audiologists” and the American Academy of Audiology was born. Because of their vision, the premier organization “of, by and for audiologists” with over 10,000 members and over 200 exhibitors join together each year to advance the field of hearing healthcare. The 20th Anniversary celebration will focus on the important and fun historical developments that have occurred over the past two decades. Look for information throughout this guide that highlights the special activities and events created in honor of the Academy’s 20th Anniversary.

Open House - Saturday April 5
Experience a great ending to AudiologyNOW! by attending (or throwing!) a party sponsored by your alma matter or organization and enjoy the company of your current and former colleagues. Rooms are offered free of charge. Use this opportunity to showcase your organization’s contributions to the audiology community. Requests must be received by February 21, 2008.
